Slow going....

things seem to be pretty quiet right now. A couple of you are working on orphan block tops, and I am too *VBS* I know it's not something that we do full time, like piece our regular quilts...but it makes for a fun 'play' day...with no little to nothing that can go wrong...just rather mindless sewing...*VBS*Here are the blocks I've been playing with this past week. They came in as a donation from Gypsy Quilter. I sewed 2.5" X 3.5" rectangles together into long 'stacks' of bricks, and then sewed a bagful of HST sqs. around the school house block(well, half of it at least..LOL). Obviously I have more to do, but that was it for one day and then life 'happened' again. I'll be getting back to it soon..*VBS* How about you???

I've added a few blocks to my 'blue' orphan collection. I'll lay them out and take a pic over the weekend.

Looking good and very "Finn-like". As for me? Still reading away catching up on blogs - I'm in the middle of the "S" bunch now, and am keeping up to date on everything above that. It's just killing me that I can't sew more, but so far the pain is showing now sign of leaving any time soon. At least I've manage to shove a bunch of 2" squares through the machine LOL! I can do that much one handed.

Finn, did lay out a few things for my ORPHAN in progress.... but your is looking very nice indeed! I think maybe you have inspired me to use some of my navy 4 patches as fillers....hadn't actually thought of that until I saw your photo! Thanks for sharing the pics...er inspiration! Colleen

Short of sticking them all in one basket two weeks ago (?) all I have been able to do is dream of working on another top or two. My mom sent some fabric for backs the other day and there was a little blue scrappy star to add to the mix.
