Last stop before the destination.....

It's been a while since I showed the beginnings of this Orphan quilt. And now I see that Blogger has reversed the pictures...sorry!I've snapped a close up of one of the lower corners(second photo) to better display how many bits, parts and blocks can go into one of these quilts.Once they are selected and put into their position, they seem to get along just fine.
Here's the full top(upper photo) as it is now. I'm deciding if it needs borders or not. More often than not, I'm content with the statement the pieced part makes and don't add borders unless it needs more size.
I'm undecided on this one. I'll get a backing made over the weekend and see if I can get it pinned at least.

Hey Finn,
I've been cleaning out my quilting corner and have found lots of orphan blocks....do you take block donations? If so, can you e-mail me with an address? Thanks,
Kim

That's one colorful trainfull of orphans getting read to get onboard for their final destination. Do you have an intended home for their adoption? How's the chief engineer and conductor doing? I think sometimes that orphan blocks are how we all feel in the winter.....but we hang in for the ride and hope that a warm home and a full heart are all of our endings of journeys!

I often don't add borders, either. I like the look without more often than not. Such a great orphan quilt!
Blogger seems to have decided to load all photos in the reverse now! Makes it much harder to plan your post.
