This orphan beauty now belongs to someone special..*VBS* Carolyn's daughter. If only all orphans could be that lucky. Carolyn at http://lakesidequilting.blogspot.com/ emailed me to let me know her first orphan train quilt was totally finished as of Monday morning. She machine quilted (she's a longarmer) in swirls, and while looking for binding, found some leftover from a different project. AND...it was just enough for this quilt. Perfect ending! She tossed it in the washer and then dryer(that's when they begin to look their most beautiful) and when it came out, she wrapped it around her precious daughter, who fell in love with it immediately..*VBS* She says "I guess it's found a home".
To the best of my ability to remember what is happening..LOL, I believe Carolyn is the first to totally finish a orphan train challenge quilt....congratulations to Carolyn! Do stop over at her blog and congratulate her. Now she's on to the second quilt from orphans, I guess. And Marcie at http://patchalotmore.blogspot.com/ is going strong, and I have another small quilt from her to show tomorrow.

Thanks for the inspiration Finn...if it hadn't been for you, these orphans would still be hiding in their box!
Carolyn did a great job - what a fun mix of sizes and styles, piecing and applique.
