End of the line???

There is that question again. Has the Orphan Train gone as far as it is going?? Is it time to hang up the shovel publically, and call it a day. It's not that I've run out of orphans, nor have most quilters, I suspect. I think maybe the idea and the usefulness of the Orphan Train blog has, howeve, run out of interest.
The challenge began on June 24th, last year, and we've had a good run. Picked up quite a few people along the way. Quilters who didn't know about how much fun you can have with orphan blocks, and quilters it had never occurred to. I've seen some really lovely efforts on behalf of the 'orphans'. Some truly dedicated quilters like Carol E. at Girafee Dreamswho has made countless quilts and tops for donation.
I know that there are still readers, thanks to the site counter. So, here's the question....shall we carry on with this? The blog can "stand" as it is, as a reference, or it can be deleted, making room for someone else. I'd love to have your opinion*VS*

Oh, goodness! I hope you keep it up! But I know it's your decision ; I just really enjoy seeing other people's orphan tops! I thought I had run out of orphan blocks, but they keep appearing out of the woodwork. Are you not getting pictures of peoples' projects, or are you tired of doing the blog? My vote is KEEP this wonderful blog that inspires people.

I wouldn't delete it...you can just leave it and post only when something worth posting shows up.
Goodness knows, I haven't participated, though I have played with my orphans here and there, but just haven't done anything with them so far. BUT I have been inspired, and would love to be able to check back when I do get around to it and see how other people have used theirs.

Have loved reading this, although my house is pretty orphan free. Hope you'll keep it up - you never know when there will be more to post!

Please don't stop, you give me hope that someday I will make my own Orphan quilt with all the samples I have. I know it won't be as good as the ones you show but we need something to get ideas from. Thanks for keeping posting.

I say, if you feel up to the challenge, keep it going! I like seeing what others are doing. I love the fact that people put together things I would not have thought could go together and still look great!
Just my 2 cents worth!

Oh, please leave it up! I don't discovered it fairly recently. I wouldn't ask you to keep it up because it's work, but if you post it, we will read it. :)

I'd love to see you keep it going, Finn. Contributions may ebb and flow but there will always be an interest in orphan quilts. There are many who still haven't heard the good news that beautiful quilts can be made from orphan blocks!

I'm definitely in the "keep it going" camp. don't have to post often, but I love it when you do.

I've enjoyed reading about and seeing all the quilts. I'd love it to stay, but PLEASE at least keep the blog as a record so we can refer back to it and enjoy the quilt over again. PLEASE DONT DELETE IT.

I just found this site and I feel like Helen in the UK. It would be fun to see more of the orphan quilts. I actually made one a couple of years ago. I thought it was awful, but when I gave it to my son-in-law, he thought it was wonderful! I guess beauty really is in the eye of the beholder. I will get a picture of it and send it to you if you would like. Any hoo, I am off the read more on your other blog. Have a great day and God bless.

I agree with the others: at least keep this blog online if not updated. And if it's not too much trouble for you I'd like to see it continue growing. Hopefully a new batch of "riders" will get on soon! (It may be awhile yet before I have anything new to contribute but I love these kinds of quilts!)

We love you, Finn and we love both of your blogs. But two blogs is double the time and work and we all have hundreds to read as well as work on our own...so we're all in the same boat...err, on the same train. Keep it online, add photos and referencing for updates but don't feel you have to 'blog' on an on-going basis. We ALL visit your main blog and you can let us know when we need to hop the other train for a scenic journey on the side!
